I picked up this vase at a local 2nd hand store for a thrifty $3.
Straight away I loved the shape and knew it would look great with a quick new coat of paint…..I mean, what doesn’t?
I wish I had photographed more steps for you, (I’ll find another to do soon I promise) but it was so easy anyone can do it.
Step 1: I gave it a light sand to make sure the paint would stick well and cleaned it up with a bit of mineral turps to make sure it was nice and clean and ready to go.
Step 2: I gave it 2 coats of gloss white spray paint as per the cans instructions. Let this dry well.
Step 3: Get out the painters tape, I only had one width of tape so I cut some lengths thinner to get different thicknesses, I didn’t want all my lines the same size, Make sure you stick it down well so you get clean lines of paint.
Step 4: I gave it a couple of coats of apple red and voila, A brand new vase with some red flowers and berries from our garden, I love it!!
Off you go, find a bargain, don’t look at the colours or peeling paint, if you love the shape, you can make it look awesome!
